Rainbow (and Unicorn) Cake

I was going through my pictures the other day and found these.  They were from my daughter's 4th birthday party back in March but I never posted them.

My daughter had a joint birthday party with one of her best friends again this year.  Last year, the girls both loved My Little Pony and I made this cake for them.  This year, both girls were in same preschool class again (which was named the "Rainbows") as well as the same ballet class.  My daughter was also OBSESSED with unicorns, so a "rainbow unicorn" dance party was planned.   I knew this colorful and fun cake would be perfect.

These are the two links that I used as inspiration and for directions.

Sweetatopia- Rainbow Cake

The kids of course loved this but the adults got a kick out of it too!

Happy Baking :)

  1. I love that your layers are wider. Three 8" layers torted?

    1. I think I did 9" layers...but not really torted. I used 1 box of batter to get to colors made (so 3 boxes total used). The layers were pretty thin but I did need to trim a little off on ones they were a bit lopsided.
